H.E.A.T. and Sights and Sounds

Sights & Sounds is a Christmas tradition held by the city of San Marcos. This four day event includes a carnival, arts & crafts, pictures with Santa, local school performances and entertainment, food court, local vendors, and more. H.E.A.T. has been volunteering the help with this community event the past two years. This year, we had over 45 volunteers! Because Sights and Sounds is such a popular event for San Marcos, it is inevitable for trash to accumulate and possibly harm the nearby San Marcos River. Because H.E.A.T. is dedicated to the helping the community as well as the environment, H.E.A.T. was in charge of ‘Eco stations’ around the park. These were stations that would inform visitors how to compost/recycle properly.
We hope that this project can be a H.E.A.T. holiday tradition.
